Meat and Dairy Products From Grassfed
Ruminants Ruminants are animals with multi-chambered stomachs that allow them to get maximum food value from grass and other greens that are high in cellulose -- a type of starch that humans cannot digest. All members of the ruminant family, including cattle, can survive and thrive by grazing pasture or browsing leaves and brush. Ruminants share another trait, as well: their products contain a newly discovered “good” fat called “conjugated linoleic acid”, or CLA. When the animals are raised exclusively on grass, their meat and dairy products offer two to five times more CLA than animals raised on large amounts of grain. Research results continue to indicate that CLA shows promise of helping us fight two deadly diseases-- cancer and cardiovascular disease.
