| ABOUT US WHY OUR BEEF GRASSFED BENEFITS RED MEAT | |
| ANIMALS ARE WHAT THEY EAT CONTACT US SLIDESHOW | |
|
Red meat has gotten a
bad rap in recent decades. Consumers have been led to believe that
meat is meat is meat! In other words, no matter what an animal is fed, the
nutritional value of its products remains the same. The underlying
assumption is that all red meat is the same; this is simply not true!
Grassfed beef tends to be much lower in total fat than grainfed beef and
even comparable to a skinless chicken breast. One of the main
reasons animals are fed large amounts of grain is that they grow faster.
Grain is a more concentrated form of energy than grass and provides more
starch and calories. The net result of a high grain diet is fattier beef.
Choosing a cut of grassfed beef is actually choosing a tasty opportunity
to lower your LDL (“bad”) cholesterol levels and your calorie intake! |
